Many businesses ship with Sendle not just for the low rates, but also because we help them live up to their values.

Sustainability is weaved into everything Sendle does, from how we deliver packages to how we show up for the planet. And we’re glad we’re not doing it alone.

This Earth Month, we’re shining the spotlight on a few Sendle customers who work to bring sustainability into their processes, products, and more.

1. Modi Toys: Making culture-inspired playtime more eco-friendly

Founded by siblings Avani and Viral Modi, Modi Toys offers modern toys and books inspired by ancient Hindu culture. The stuffing of their plush toys is made from recycled plastic bottles, and they’re shipping good vibes all over the world the planet-loving way with Sendle.

“What made us start shipping with Sendle was primarily the combination of sustainability and affordability. As a small business, the lower and competitive shipping rates have been instrumental in helping us grow without compromising our margins.”

~ Avani Modi Sarkar, Co-Founder, Modi Toys

2. Parkhurst Brand: Manufacturing boots with less environmental impact

In the environmentally intensive industry of leather shoe manufacturing, Parkhurst Brand uses traditional craftsmanship and eco-conscious practices to create high-quality welted boots and extend the life of each pair.

Utilizing the Goodyear welt method, their boots are designed for easy repair, following the maintain, not dispose philosophy. They stick to natural materials, sourcing top-quality leather from trusted tanneries and using vegetable-tanned linings and midsoles, which are less intensive than conventional methods.

On the other hand, according to their Founder Andrew Svisco, the thing that made them start shipping with Sendle was the carbon offsetting program through our tree planting partnerships. He believes that as a manufacturing business, it’s important to be as responsible as they can with what they have, and Sendle fits right in with their broader sustainability efforts.

3. Root’d: Offering nutrient-dense vitamins and giving back to eco-friendly causes

Root’d is making a difference in the supplement world with less sugar and more care for the planet. They give back to environmental causes: 1% of their profits go toward land-based initiatives like tree planting, and another 1% supports ocean cleanup efforts.

They also ship with Sendle to keep things planet-friendly from warehouse to doorstep and are working to eliminate plastic from their packaging.

“We started using Sendle because the pricing just made sense—super competitive, especially for smaller shipments. Plus, being able to offer carbon-neutral shipping at no extra cost was a huge win for our brand and our customers.”

4. Greenwalnut: Offering eco-friendly items while keeping it aesthetic

For Greenwalnut, beautifully-designed products should not take a toll on the environment. They offer a range of home, educational, and baby items crafted from sustainable materials, such as acacia wood for kitchenware and durable cotton for tote bags.

Aligning with their sustainability goals, their Founder Muhammad Poonawala said they “were looking for a more affordable, hassle-free, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional couriers.” Thankfully, they found Sendle, which has also helped solve gaps in their shipping through easy, online booking, and convenient pickups.
